Nolte Park Activity Building Site Proposals
Time & Location
About The Event
As you may know, the activity building at Nolte Park has been slated for demolition due to lack of a sustainable use for the building. This demolition decision is a done deal - now we as a neighborhood need to decide what will take its place.
A meeting was held back on Dec. 4 for neighbors to review a proposal by Montgomery Parks to put a community garden at the site. While there was a good turnout at the meeting and general support for the idea, several attendees thought that the neighborhood needed to explore additional alternatives.
To this end, the East Silver Spring and Park Hills Civic Associations are teaming up to hold a meeting on Monday January, 28th from 7-8:30pm, at the B&O Station at 8100 Georgia Ave, to review the community garden proposal and to explore other options.
If you have an idea for a community use of the Nolte Park activity building site, we need to hear from you!
Please submit your ideas via email to email@example.com by 6pm on Friday, January 25.
Include in your email the following details:
Point of Contact (name, phone, email):
Benefits to the Community:
Number of people who may utilize the site:
Cost estimate (if possible):
Please also be prepared to present your proposal at the January 28 meeting. Each proposal will get about 15 minutes of presentation time, or more depending on how many proposals we get. We will have a computer and projector for your use, or feel free to bring any other kind of visual aid.
After the presentations, we will try to come to a consensus of the community's preferred option. We have invited staff from Montgomery Parks to help provide feedback on the proposals and to participate in the discussion.
